Mr. Amos Adeniyi was born on February 20, 1938 into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Oyenuga Osode of Itamarun, Ijebu Imusin. He attended St. Mary’s Anglican School, Ijebu Imusin, from 1946 to 1951, and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. He went on to attend a number of other institutions. Among them are Itamerin United School, Oru in 1952; Ibefun/Ilado United School in 1953, Anglican School in 1954, and Local Government Modern Secondary School, Itamorigi, Ijebu Imusin, where he earned his Modern School Certificate between 1955 and1957. He would go further in his academic quest to obtain his Teacher Grade III and Grade II Certificates at the Teacher College. Then in 1984, he completed his Associateship Certificate in Education (ACE) at the University of Ibadan.
During his period of service as a teacher, he taught in the following institutions: Ajebo United School Ikala, Ijebu Imusin (1958); Moslem Primary School, Ijebu Imusin (1982-1984); and Ehinade Community Primary School, Idomodu (1988-1990). He retired on December 31, 1992 after serving for a period of 35 years.
After his retirement, he worked as an Accounts Officer for 18 years at St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Ijebu Imusin, before finally retiring on February 28, 2012. He is presently a member of the Itamarun Development Council (IDC).
