Chief Julius Adedeji Awobajo was born in 1933 at Idona, Ijebu Imusin to the family of Pa Jeremiah Awobajo and Madam Victoria Adebowale Awobajo. He attended St. Mary’s Anglican Primary School, Ijebu Imusin, from 1942 to 1951 and passed with the First School Leaving Certificate. Between 1956 and 1957, he completed his Teachers’ Grade III Certificate from Divisional Teacher Training College, Okun Owa, Ijebu-Ode, and Teachers’ Grade II Certificate from Government Teachers’ College Surulere, Lagos, from 1972 to 1973.
He taught as class teacher and head teacher in a number of schools in both Ogun and Lagos State, including St. Mary’s Anglican School, Ijebu Imusin, and Baptist School, Oke-Ofa. He retired in 1990 and went into trading. He was appointed Otun Olotu Oja of Ijebu Imusin by the Oloko of Ijebu Imusin, Alayeluwa Oba S. A. Onafowokan (JP) in the year 2000. He went on holy pilgrimage to Jerusalem in 2004. Chief Julius Awobajo is currently the Balogun of Idokunusi, Ijebu Imusin.
