Prince Igbosanu was born on March 3, 1938 at Imuwen into the family of Late Pa Abel Igbosanu Ogunfowope. He is a descendant of the Amesofe and Olifin Ogbolu Ruling Houses of Ijebu Ife. He started his primary education at St. Andrew’s Anglican Primary School, Imuwen, before moving to St. Mary’s Anglican Primary School, Ijebu Imusin, where he studied between 1947 and 1954 for his First School Leaving Certificate. He also attended St. Matthew’s Teacher Training College and Joint Provincial Teacher College, Sagamu, to earn his Teacher Grade II Certificate. He later went on to study at the British Careers Training College.
He served as head teacher of Ibefun/Ilado Secondary and Commercial Modern School from 1972 to 1975. He was the Pioneer Chairman of the Ijebu East NUT in 1983, a position he occupied until 1988. He was the Divisional Leader of NUT in Ijebu Division from 1989 to 1992, and Treasurer of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Imuwen, from 1994 to 2006.
