Archbishop Felix Alaba Job was born on June 24, 1938, into the family of Pa Augustine Job and Madam Anna Idowu Job. He attended St. Peter Claver’s Primary School, Esure, Ijebu Imusin, and completed his primary education in 1952. He later studied at St. Theresa’s Minor Seminary, Oke-Ara, Ibadan, from 1954 to 1959; and then at SS Peter & Paul Major Seminary, Oke-Ara, Ibadan, from 1959 to 1963. Between 1963 and 1966, he studied at the Pontifical Urban University, Rome.
Archbishop Felix Job was ordained as the First Catholic Priest in Ijebuland and the first indigene of Ijebu Imusin to be so ordained on December 24, 1966. After having served as a Priest in many Parishes, he returned to St. Theresa’s Minor Seminary, Oke-Ara, Ibadan, as Rector in 1969. In 1971, he was consecrated as Auxiliary Bishop of Ibadan and became the first Indigenous Bishop of Ibadan, enthroned to replace Bishop Finn, an expatriate. In 1994, he became the Archbishop of Ibadan Archdiocese, overseeing the Dioceses of Ibadan, Oyo, Oshogbo, Ondo, and Ekiti. He became both a role model and an inspiration to many young people from Ijebu Imusin who opted to join the Catholic Priesthood. Today, there are about thirty indigenes of Ijebu Imusin in the Catholic Priesthood all around the world.
He has contributed hugely to the development of Ijebu Imusin through the education of children and social and spiritual upliftment. On November 12, 1994, the Oloko of Ijebu Imusin, Alayeluwa Oba S. A. Onafowokan, conferred him with the Ijebu Imusin Community Merit Award. He retired as Archbishop in January 2014.
