Otunba Oladele Mustapha, JP, He was born in 1937 at Odonopa, Ijebu Imusin to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Obasanya Mustapha Sangofuwa. He started his primary education at Emmanuel Primary School, Isonyin-Ijebu, and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate there.  In 1957, he moved to St. John’s College, Eleta, Ibadan, where he passed the Teachers Grade III Certificate in 1958. In 1961, he went to study at St. Peter Teachers’ College, Akure and passed the Teachers Grade II Certificate in 1962. He studied for a higher qualification at the University of Ibadan and graduated with a Diploma Certificate in Education in 1977.

He taught in both primary and secondary schools from 1959 to 1981.  He was a teacher at St. Anthony’s Grammar School, Esure, Ijebu Imusin, from 1982 to 1987. He was a former Chairman of Ijebu and Ogun Waterside Association of Primary School Teachers of Nigeria (APSTON). Having spent about 35 years in the teaching profession, he retired in 1993.  He went on pilgrimage to Jerusalem in the year 2000. 

While working at St. Anthony’s Grammar School, Otunba Oladele Mustapha, in collaboration with Rev. Osunfisan, revived the moribund Scout Movement in Ijebu East.  He served as Secretary, Treasurer and Chairman of Community Development Association at Zonal and State Levels. He was honoured with the chieftaincy title of ‘Olumoyegun’ of Ijebu Imusin and became a member of Ijebu Imusin Council of Chiefs.
