Otunba Francis Adebayo Ogunbamowo was born on September 10, 1931 at Ijebu Imusin. He attended St. Peter Claver’s Catholic Primary School Esure, Ijebu Imusin; St. Leo’s Teachers’ College, Abeokuta; Garnett College of the University of London; and the University of Wisconsin, USA. He was one of the first students who received the Annual Rally Best Student Award. He holds a Masters’ degree in Business Administration.
After a teaching stint in some schools, he went to work with the Nigeria Tobacco Company Plc. and quickly rose to the position of Personnel Director. He was one of the directors of British American Tobacco International Management and Development Centre, UK, and a former Deputy Managing Director of Cheseborough Product Industry Plc. He served on the board of directors of many companies, including Guinness Nigeria Plc.
He contributed to the replacement of the stolen Ewunren NEPA transformer, which was relocated to Oja Imusin for security reasons. The land on which the present St. Patrick’s Missionary School stands was donated by Otunba Francis Ogunbamowo to the community. During his tenure as the Deputy Managing Director of Cheseborough Products Industry, the company continually sponsored the Ijebu Imusin Annual Rally.
He was formerly a member of the Board of Directors of the defunct Ijebu Imusin Community Bank (now Sapida Microfinance Bank). In November 2007, he received the Ijebu Imusin Community Merit Award.
