Pa Moses Ogunbowale Ogunkeye was born on August 25, 1929 at Imuwen to the family of Late Pa Saka Ogunnoiki Ogunkeye and Late Madam Idowu Ogunkeye. From 1945 to 1950, he attended St. Andrew’s Anglican Primary School, Imuwen. He then moved to St. Mary’s Anglican Primary School, Ijebu Imusin, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1952. In 1955, he attended St. Andrew’s Teachers College, Oyo, and eventually passed with Teacher Grade II certificate. Between 1977 and 1978, he studied at the University of Ife, Ile-Ife, and graduated with Associateship Certificate in Education.
He was at different times a teacher and headmaster in various primary and secondary schools in Ijebu Imusin; notable among which are St. Mary’s Anglican Primary School and Moslem Primary School where he retired in 1988. In the 1980s, he was Inspector of several schools. Between 1981 and 1985, he was Secretary, Area Schools Board, Ojowo. In 1991, he was appointed Principal Training Officer (Census); and served as Chairman, District Education Committee from 1995 to 1999.
