Pa Ernest Stanley Onatola, ICMA, was born to the family of Chief & Mrs. Onasile Onatola on October 10, 1904. He attended St. Mary’s Anglican School, Ijebu Imusin. He started teaching at St. Mary’s Anglican School in 1921. He also taught at Methodist School, Ago-Ijaye, Ebute-metta, Lagos, between 1935 and 1944. In 1946, he taught at Methodist School, Buisa, Imesi-Ile. He taught at Osogbo in 1947; in Aiyepe-Ijebu in 1948; in Odogbolu, Ososa, Ibefun in 1950. From 1951 to 1969, he taught at St. Mary’s School, Ijebu Imusin. He also taught in a few other places, including Ode Remo, Kokunesere, Moslem School, Ijebu-Imusin, St. Peter Claver’s School, Esure, Ijebu Imusin, before he resigned in 1979.
He was one of the foundation members of Ijebu Imusin Progressive Society (IPS). As the secretary of the society, he composed the Ijebu Imusin anthem and designed its the logo. He was also the Choirmaster of St. Mary’s Anglican Church for several years.
