Otunba Michael Abiodun was born on December 25, 1955, in Ijagbure, Ijebu Imusin. He attended St. Mary’s Anglican Primary School, Ijebu Imusin, from 1963 to 1968, and St. Anthony’s Grammar School, Ijebu Imusin, from 1971 to 1976. He earned a Diploma in Public Health from the College of Health Technology in 1981 and attained his Postgraduate Diploma in Health Education at the University of Ibadan from 1994 to 1995. He pursued his MSc. in Environmental Management at the University of Ado-Ekiti, between 2002 and 2004.
He served with the Ogun State Local Government Commission as an Officer in Training from 1978 to 1981. He was a Professional Environmental Health Officer (1981-1987); Higher Environmental Health Officer (1987-1990); Senior Environmental Officer (1990-1992); and Principal, Environmental Health Officer from 1992-1995.
He later served as Chief Environmental Health Officer (1995 -2001); Assistant Director, Environmental Health from 2001 to 2005; as Deputy Director, Environmental Health Services (2003 -2011); and Director, Environmental Health Services, Ogun State Local Services, from 2011-2013. He retired as a Director in Ogun State Local Government Service in November 2013.
He was ex-chairman, of Local Government Directors of Water Supply and Environmental Health from 2013 to 2014. He was a member of Environmental Health Officers of Nigeria, and a member of Ogun State Environmental Health Officers Association from 1981 to 2013.
He has been a Member/Auditor, of the Ogun State Hotel Owners Association since 1999. He was Managing Director, Decent Guest House, Ilisan Remo, Ogun State.
He joined the Ijebu Imusin Patriots Club in 1987 and has been a member till date. He is currently a member of the Ijebu Imusin Council of Chiefs; a Member, of the Oba Oloko Palace Fundraising Committee; and the Internal Auditor, of the Ijebu Imusin Council of Chiefs. He holds the chieftaincy title of ‘Otunba Bobalogba of Ijebu Imusin’. In his spare time, Otunba Abiodun Michael Sunday enjoys reading and dancing. He is married to Otunba (Mrs.) Rachael Idowu Abiodun.
