Otunba Anthony Adebisi Badejo was born on August 8, 1943, in Ijebu-Imusin to the family of Late Prince Badejo Alausa of Ogunmade Ruling House of Idoko-Ajase and Alhaji Ayinke Badejo of Adefowokan Ruling Hose of Kunisi Obila, Idokunusi.

He attended the famous Moslem Primary School, Ijebu-Imusin between 1956 and 1960 where he obtained the First School Leaving Certificate. Then he proceeded to Catholic Secondary Modern School, Ijebu-Ode in 1961 and obtained the Secondary Modern School Leaving Certificate in 1963. He earned his RSA Pitman/Shorthand (Intermediate First Class) and G.C.E “O” Level in English Language, Literature, Geography and Economics in 1965. From 1969 to 1972, he was at Yaba College of Technology for a Diploma course in Office Management which he finished in flying colours.

Under the sponsorship of his employer, M/S Reiss & Co.(Nigeria) Limited, Otunba Badejo attended several short-term management courses at the University of Ibadan in 1970 and later Amsterdam and London between 1972 and 1975. He joined Botam Nigeria Limted, which became the first to open an industrial factory in Ijebu-Imusin. At Botman, he enjoyed frequent overseas business trips, visiting such countries as Canada, India, China, Japan, U.S.A, etc., including some countries in West Africa.

Otunba Badejo has played a significant role in the overall development of the Ijebu-Imusin Community. He served as Secretary, the Council of Chiefs, Ijebu-Imusin; Treasurer of the IPB as well as President of “A” klub Ijebu-Imusin, one of the foremost social clubs in the community. He also contributed appreciably to the acquisition of the land used to establish the Ijebu-Imusin Community Centre, serving as Rally Co-ordinator for raising funds towards the centre’s development. For the record, Otunba Badejo has assisted many unemployed youths in securing paid jobs. Apart from community development, Otunba Badejo has been actively involved in the activities of the Catholic Mission both home and abroad.

In 1981, as a Co-Director in Houdret and Company Ltd, Hanley On Thames, UK, he won the queen’s award for expert achievement, which indeed was no mean feat. He was also the recipient of the Ijebu-Imusin Merit Award for the Year 2004.

Otunba Anthony is married to an ever-smiling, loving, and devoted wife, Mrs. Christiana Olorunfunmike Badejo (Nee Ogunlade of Makun Sagamu). The marriage is blessed with many children.
