Alhaji Abdul-Rasak Badmus was born on April 27, 1956 at Ijebu Imusin. He attended Muslim Primary School, Ijebu Imusin; St. Andrew’s Primary School, Abeokuta; St. Paul’s Primary School, Abeokuta; and Nigerian Model School, Mushin, Lagos, from 1962 to 1965. He later attended Ijebu Muslim College, Ijebu Ode, from 1967 to 1971; and Oriwu College, Ikorodu, from 1971 to 1972 before proceeding to the London School of Accounting, London, from 1977 to 1983.

In later years, Alhaji Badmus attended top executive leadership courses at the University of Stellenbosch Business School, South Africa (2007), and at the University of Manchester Business School (2012).

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria; a Full Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered); an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation; a Member of the Institute of Directors; and a Member of the Institute of Hospitality of Britain, formerly known as Hotel and Catering International Management Association.

Alhaji Adeniyi Badmus started work as an Accountant with the Ogun State Health Board (1984 -1985).  Later, he joined the  Western Hotels (Nig.) Limited, Ibadan (owners of Premier & Lafia Hotels, Ibadan) as Accountant (1985-1987), Internal Auditor (1987-1990), and Chief Accountant/Company Secretary (1990-1997). From there, he joined Lagos Airport Hotels Limited, Ikeja, and rose through the ranks from an Executive Director (Finance and Administration) between 1997 and 2004, to become Managing Director/CEO in 2005.  He remained in this post until 2007.

He served Odu’a Investment Company Ltd. in several positions, notably as Head of Odu’a Investment Desk, Abuja, from 2008 to May 2010; General Manager (Finance & Investment), from June 2010 to June 2013; Executive Director (Finance & Planning) from June 2013 to June 2014.  He retired from Odu’a after 29 years of meritorious service.

From 1990 to 1994, Alhaji Badmus was Secretary of the Ibadan District of ICAN, and Chief Invigilator for ICAN examinations in the district from 1996 to 1997. He has also served on various committees of ICAN; he was Chairman of the Fellowship Conferment Sub-committee; Chairman of the Employment Bureau Sub-committee (2012-2013); and a member of the Strategic Committee of ICAN (2013-2014).

He was a member of the Business Club of Nigeria; Nigeria-British Chamber of Commerce; Vice Chairman of the Hotel and Personal Staff Employers Association of Nigeria (HOPSEA); and Chairman of Owena Motels, Akure (2005 to 2007). He is a member of the Ibadan Recreation Club, Ikeja Golf Club, and immediate past President of the 15/88 Investment League.

He is the holder of the traditional title of Giwa Adinni of Ijebu Imusin. He is a lawn tennis and table tennis player. He is married to his amiable wife, Alhaja Titilayo Badmus, and they have four children.
