Alhaji T. A. Badmus was born on January 19, 1927 at Okepo, Ijebu Imusin, to Pa O. B. Alli popularly called Oga Agba, and Late Madam Rafatu Alli. He attended St. Peter Claver’s School, Esure, Ijebu Imusin from 1938 to 1939; and St. Mary’s Anglican School, Ijebu Imusin, from 1940 to 1945. He attended Muslim Teacher Grade II College from January 1956 to December 1957, and passed the Grade II Teacher Certificate Examination in January 1961 as an external candidate. He attended Government Technical College (now Polytechnic) Ibadan, from 1962 to December 1963. In September 1968, he enrolled at the National Technical Teacher College, Yaba, Lagos, where he was awarded the National Teacher Certificate in September 1969.
In 1945, he was appointed as ‘Pupil Teacher’ in Muslim Primary School, Ijebu Imusin. He became a teacher in 1946, teaching in many schools in Ijebu Imusin and in different parts of the country. He taught at Our Lady of Apostle Secondary School, Abeokuta, from January 1964 to September 1964; and at Oriwu College Ikorodu, Lagos, from October 1969 to August 1981 as Head of Department of Commerce. He was the founding Principal of Government College II, Ikorodu in 1981. He was appointed Vice-Principal of Government Grade II Teacher College in 1982, and served as the Principal of the school in 1985.
Alhaji Tesilimi Badmus retired from service in June 1985 after a successful teaching career and returned to his home town, Ijebu Imusin, to assist in the task of developing the community. He was a member of the Education Committee responsible for the establishment of Ijebu Imusin Comprehensive High School. He was one of the promoters and still a director of the Ijebu Imusin Community Bank.
He served as a councillor in 1958 to 1960 in then Ijebu East District Council where he represented the ‘Katun’ ward of Ijebu Imusin. In 1987, he was appointed Electoral Officer in Ogun State and served until 1990 when he voluntarily resigned.
Alhaji Tesilimi Badmus is a pioneer member of the Ijebu Imusin Planning Body which was formed in 1981 and he served as its President from 1988 to 1990. He was a founding member of Ijebu Imusin Youth Association (home branch), an affiliate of the IPS, which was responsible for organising the Annual Rally from 1946 to 1980. He is presently a member of the Peace Committee appointed by His Royal Majesty, the Oloko of Ijebu Imusin.
