Mr. Ismail Adetola Lawal was born on February 12, 1941, at Isale Oja, Odonopa, Ijebu Imusin. He attended Moslem Primary School, Ijebu Imusin, and Awe High School, Awe-Oyo, Oyo State. He later attended the Prestigious ‘FIDI’ (Federation of International Furniture Removers) Advanced Management Course in London. He holds a B.A (Economics) from the University of Navarra, Pamplona, Spain.
Mr. Lawal is the founder and majority shareholder of AIL Nigeria Limited and has been the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company since 1978. He has represented AIL Nigeria Limited at International conferences and forums organized by the Federation of International Furniture Removers (FIDI), Overseas Moving Network International (OMNI), Latin American and Caribbean Movers International Association (LACIMA), International Association of Movers (IAM), International Air Transport Association (IATA), International Federation of Freight Forwarders Association (IFFFA), among others.
Mr. Lawal has a strong background in auditing, marketing, budgeting, and profit and loss management. He also has a demonstrated record of developing and implementing solutions to multi-dimensional complex operational problems; his areas of competencies are international freight forwarding, international relocations, projects and logistics, and supply chain management.
He is a non-executive director of Aluminium Extrusions Industries Plc., Owerri, Imo State, and a board member of African PMA-Direct (Federation of International Furniture Removers). He is the Chairman, the Pariola Street Resident Association, an association within Ogudu G.R.A Resident Association. He is a member of the Nigerian and German Business Council, Nigeria and Spanish Business Council, and a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, Pall Mall, London.
Mr. Lawal is also a member of Ikoyi Club 1938, Metropolitan Club and Island Club. He is a Chartered Member, Foundation for Excellence in Business Practice, Geneva, Switzerland. An avid golf player, Mr. Lawal is married to Mrs. Kehinde Adetola Lawal. Their marriage is blessed with two sons and two daughters.
