Mrs. Modupe Odukoya was born on May 27, 1950 at Ire-Ekiti, Ekiti State. She attended St. Columba’s Catholic Primary School, Igbemo, Ekiti (1955 to 1960), and St. Louis Secondary School, Ikere, Ekiti (1965 to 1969). From September 1970 to June 1974, she read Pharmacy at Obafemi Awolowo University (then University of Ife), where she received her B.Pharm (Hons).
Upon graduation the following year, she participated in the mandatory one-year NYSC program at the Military Hospital, Enugu, serving for only 3 months (September 1975 – December 1975). She continued at the General Hospital, Ikeja, and completed her service in September 1976.
She started her career as Lecturer II at the University Health Centre, University of Ibadan, and then joined the Ministry of Health, Abeokuta (November 1977 – August 1985). She later had a three-year work experience at Chris-Pat (Nig.) Limited, Abeokuta (1986 -1989), and then in 1990 moved to State Hospital Management Board, Abeokuta, serving until 2010. She was the Director of Pharmaceutical Services (2000 – 2010), and was appointed the Permanent Secretary, of Ogun State (May 2010).
She has been a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria and was a member of the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria from 2007 to 2010. Mrs. Modupe Odukoya is married to Mr. Oluwole Odukoya and they have four children.
