Born on June 2, 1935 in Ijebu-Imusin, Ogun State, Nigeria, Rev. Osimokun Agbolade Olatunji began his primary school education at St. Mary’s Anglican School in 1943 and later moved to St. Mark’s School, Offa in 1944, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1951. 

In 1952, Rev. Olatunji proceeded to Offa Grammar School for his secondary school education, where he remained till he passed the West African School Certificate (WASC) in 1957.  He pursued a course in Co-operative Studies at Co-operative College, Eleiyele, Ibadan, from 1958 to 1959 and received the Certificate in Co-operative Studies (Cert. Co-op) before he sat for and passed his G.C.E A’ Level between 1960 and 1962.  He subsequently proceeded to Philips-Universitat Marburgkahn, Lahn, (former West Germany) on an in-service/technical scholarship and studied for the period 1964 -1968, graduating with a B. Sc. (Edu) in Business Administration in 1968.

Rev. Olatunji started his working life as an Accounts Clerk at the Federal Agric Moor-Plantation, Ibadan in 1958.  He later worked as a Cooperative Inspector at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ibadan from 1959 to 1963.  Rev. Olatunji was on study leave in Germany between 1964 and 1968 under the auspices of the University Education, German Technical Assistance Programme.  In 1968, he joined Kaduna State Polytechnic as Lecturer I, serving until 1970.  Rev. Olatunji later attended an MBA programme at the University of Lagos under the sponsorship of Kaduna Polytechnic between 1974 and 1975.  In 1976, he was promoted to Senior Lecturer, Kaduna Polytechnic, a position he held until 1978 before being appointed as HOD/Dean of Faculty, Kaduna Polytechnic from 1984 to 1985.  He voluntarily retired from service in 1985.

Following his retirement, Rev. Olatunji went into private business and church ministration, culminating in his ordination visit to the Holy Land in 2010.  He ran his private business in Kaduna and served as an evangelist and priest in the Anglican Communion, Kaduna.  Rev. Olatunji became a Member of the National Institute of Nigeria in 1977. He has received a number of awards in recognition of his service, such as the MMIN award in 1977 and a church award.   

His hobbies are football, lawn tennis, table tennis, agriculture, and reading. Rev. Olatunji is married to Mrs. Morenikeji Adebayo Osimokun (Nee Osiadade), and they have very successful children.
