Mr. Samuel Oni is the son of Pa Henry Ayoola Oni and Madam Elizabeth K. Oni. He was born on January 20, 1943, at Imuwen, Ijebu Imusin, and attended AUD Primary School, Epe, from 1951 to 1956 when he completed his First School Leaving Certificate. He later attended Ijebu Ode Grammar School (1957-1963) where he attained his West African School Certificate. He went on to earn his Higher School Certificate (HSC) in 1966 and a B. Sc. in Mathematics/Education in 1971.
He worked as a teacher, Vice Principal and Principal in schools such as Ijebu Ode Grammar School; Sapade Grammar School; St. Brendan’s Grammar School, Ogbere; and Itamapako High School, Iloti; among others. He was very committed as a member of the Imuwen Development Council and as a parish council member of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, Imuwen.
