Canon Samuel Osiyale was born in the year 1901 at Idoko Atedo in Ijebu Imusin. He attended St. Mary’s Anglican Primary School and St. Andrew’s Teacher College between 1910 and 1920.  He taught at St. Andrew’s Teacher College from 1921 to 1938. During this period, he was ordained a priest of the Anglican Communion.

He was posted to Ijebu-Ode Grammar School as Vice Principal in 1939. That same year, he was appointed as Assistant Vicar of St. Saviour’s Church. In 1940, he was transferred to Ijebu-Igbo as Vicar of St. Saviour’s and was in Ijebu- Ode as Vicar in 1950. He became a Canon in the same year. Other parishes where he served include St. Pauls’ Anglican Church, Sagamu, and St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Igbore.

Canon Samuel Osiyale was President of the Young Men Christian Association of the St. Mary’s Anglican Church.  He died on May 26, 1967.
