Pa Moses Ogunbowale Ogunkeye was born on August 25, 1929, at Imuwen to the family of Pa Saka Ogunnoiki Ogunkeye and Madam Idowu Ogunyeke. From 1945 to 1950, he attended St. Andrew’s Anglican Primary School, Imuwen. He then moved to St. Mary’s Anglican Primary School, Ijebu-Imusin, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate in 1952. In 1955, he attended St. Andrew’s Teacher College, Oyo, and passed with a Teachers Grade II certificate. Between 1977 and 1978, he studied at the University of Ife, Ile-Ife, and graduated with an Associateship Certificate in Education.
He was at different times a teacher and headmaster in various primary and secondary schools in Ijebu-Imusin, notable among which are St. Mary’s Anglican Primary School and Muslim Primary School where he retired in 1988. During the 1980s, he was Inspectors of several schools. Between 1981 and 1985, he was Secretary, the Area Schools Board, Ojowo. In 1991, he was appointed Principal Training Officer (Census) and Chairman of, District Education Committee from 1995 to 1999.
