Mrs. Folake Runsewe was born on November 17, 1942, to Papa Samuel Runsewe. She attended St. Mary Primary School, Ijebu, and completed her primary education at St. James School, Oke-Ado, Ibadan. She attended Hannah-Hinderer Secondary School afterwards.
Because of her passion for the welfare of people, she went to the School of Nursing, Eleiyele, Ibadan, and completed her training at General Hospital, Ijebu Ode. She started her nursing profession at Ondo General Hospital and was later posted to Ijebu-Ife District Hospital.
She relocated to join her family in Lagos, where she joined the Lagos State Health Management in 1973, serving actively at Onikan Health Centre; Epe General Hospital; Massey Children Hospital; Island Maternity and General Hospital, where she retired in the year 2000. She is blessed with children and grandchildren.
